Fishing Where are some great places to fish in Waterloo Region?

1) Kaufman Flats has been a hotspot for the last couple years. It’s in Waterloo. The entrance to Kaufman Flats is east off University Avenue East, just north of Lexington Road in Waterloo. It is about 200 metres down the hill from University Avenue East. Park beside the river at the Claude Dubrick Trailway – Walter Bean Trail parking lot.

2 & 3) North of Waterloo, on the Grand River at the bridge by Winterbourne and north of that at Inverhaugh are good and popular spots.

4) Conestogo River below the dam just West of St. Jacobs on Three Bridges Road.

5) Below the dams at Conestogo and Bellwood lake

6) Shades Mill – Cambridge Conservation area.

7) Snider’s Flats

 

Smallmouth and Rock bass, pike, rainbow trout and walleye are the most common catches.
