KW LatinFest 2013

KW LatinFest 2013The KW LatinFest is a free festival, accessible to all members of the community, with programming for all ages.

Each July Neruda Productions, along with partners Latin Life Magazine and Tropical 88.3 Campus Community Radio, present an amazing line up of local, national and international contemporary Latin artists in the Uptown Waterloo Public Square. And each year more and more residents and visitors come out to enjoy this energetic and friendly celebration of Latin culture.

The KW LatinFest is the only festival of its kind in Ontario to feature multiple genres of contemporary Latin music. It’s also one of the only festivals in KW where people begin dancing in the mid-afternoon and don’t stop until the festival shuts down just before midnight. From Cumbia to Son Jarocho, Merengue to Salsa, Bachata to Bolero and beyond, LatinFest aims to represent as broad a cross section of Latin music and culture as possible.

LatinFest has helped establish the Waterloo Public Square as a site of culture and community activity attracting over 3,500 people into Uptown. LatinFest also boasts a fantastic festival market with an abundance of ethnic food, craft and fine art vendors plus community group and sponsor tables.
