Sexual Assault Awareness Month Event

1The Annual Sexual Assault Awareness Month Event’s focus is on Human Sex Trafficking. The Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region is proud to have Jacqui Linder as our keynote speaker and Mayor Brenda Halloran as our Master of Ceremonies.

Jacqui’s presentation will explore the psychological dynamics of human trafficking and sexual exploitation including PTSD, learned helplessness, appeasement behaviour, and Stockholm Syndrome. The information will help attendees and those working with survivors of human trafficking better appreciate the long-term mental health issues resulting from this type of trauma.

PhD candidate, registered psychologist and certified Clinical Traumatologist, Jacqui is trained in a range of clinical modalities. She is the founder and Executive/Clinical Director of the Chrysalis Anti-Human Trafficking Network, which offers a national 24-7 trauma counselling line for survivors of human trafficking and exploitation.

New this year will be a live and silent auction!
