NOIn recognition of the 40th anniversary of the bloody military coup that brought General Augusto Pinochet to power in Chile in 1973, Neruda Productions will host a number of events this year beginning with a screening of the Chilean film, NO. These events recognize the tremendous suffering of the Chilean people under Pinochet’s brutal 17-year regime.

NO is directed by Pablo Larrain, stars Gael Garcia Bernal and was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2013 Academy Awards. The film focuses on the NO’ marketing campaign of the 1988 plebiscite to allow military dictator, General Augusto Pinochet, to serve as President for another 8-year term. NO is described by Time Out New York film critic David Fear as a ‘masterpiece’. Please join us to mark the birth and death of a dictatorship at this special Neruda Productions film screening.
