Gainline Africa Gelato Day

Gainline Africa Gelato Day Seven Waterloo County Rugby players will be embarking on a service trip to Uganda with an organization called Gainline Africa. Gainline Africa is a sports for development organization that uses rugby as a tool for development in Africa’s post conflict communities. Over the last two decades civil war has brought the northern regions of Uganda to its knees. During the 20 year conflict in Uganda, over 60,000 children were abducted and forced to become child soldiers by the LRA. Today the LRA has fled into Central Africa and Northern Uganda is now on a path to reintegration, reconciliation and hope. These 16 and 17 year old boys are very excited to work with Gainline Africa on this journey to bring a sense of community back to the area’s youth through the beautiful sport of rugby.

The first is a Gelato day on Saturday, April 27 from 1-8 p.m. at Whole Lot-a-Gelata at 120 King Street S. in Waterloo.  100% of Gelato sales during that time period will be donated to sending this team on their service trip to Uganda.

The second event is a BBQ on Saturday, May 25 from 11 to 5 at Giant Tiger at 351 Margaret Avenue.
