Rain! The Beatles – What I Thought

RainRain! The Beatles Tribute is at Centre in the Square for two performances!  This is a fantastic night out for any Beatles fans!  Taking you from the beginning until “The End” this is a wonderful tribute to a band that brought us so many hits.  They do a fantastic job taking you on The Beatles journey from the beginning of their fame in 1964 until the very end in 1969.  They sounds just like The Beatles and look just like them too!  The hair, the clothes, their sound…EVERYTHING!…is just like The Beatles.

One of the things that impressed me the most was the gentleman who was playing Paul McCartney.  If you closed your eyes you would swear you were listening to the real Paul McCartney.  Even when he was talking and not singing he still sounded like Paul.  They all did a fantastic job at doing the same movements as the real Beatles.  George Harrison did his ‘jig’ that he used to do.  Ringo bobbed his head.  John stood with his legs spaced.  Paul had the doe-eyed expressions.  It was fantastic.  I also really liked the way they were interacting with the crowd.  They really wanted audience participation, and that is exactly what they got.  People of all ages were signing along to all their favourite songs.

Most of the songs were popular songs that everyone knew and could sing along to with the exception of “I’m Happy Just to Dance with You” which was a song sung by George on their Hard Days Night album.  It’s a good song but was never extremely popular like most of the other songs they played.  I always really liked that song, so it was a nice surprise.  The only song I thought they would play that they didn’t was Penny Lane.  I have always loved that song but realize that there are just too many wonderful Beatle songs to play that they can’t possibly play them all.

If you LOVE the beatles…then Rain! The Beatles Tribute is a must-see concert!  It’s the closest you’re going to get to re-living the Beatles in their glory days without seeing McCartney (or Starr) in concert.  It is a wonderful night out and tickets are reasonably cheap as they start at $37.50!
