It’s that magical time of the year again. No, not Christmas. March Break. With the impending early spring showing up on calico lawns and piebald driveways throughout the magical Region of Waterloo it is with an uncertain lightness of heart we collectively wonder what the heck to do with our kids for a week. March Break is March 11-15. Seems too early, but it always does.

Well?

Here are some ideas.

 

March Break Madness

March Break fun at the Waterloo Region Museum! Every day hands-on activities and demonstrations are scheduled for the whole family. Regular admission.

Where: Waterloo Region Museum

Time: Monday to Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Mad Science Fire and Ice Show

Audiences will be dazzled by our spectacular Fire and Ice Show! We will heat things up with our disappearing fire followed by an awesome indoor fireworks display! Next we’ll cool you right down to minus 79 degrees Celsius with a mesmerizing dry ice presentation! Listen to a spoon scream and check out a neat rainbow reaction. Volunteer to taste a burp, touch exploding, foggy bubbles or take a Mad Science shower! Finish off with the incredible Swoosh, Whoosh, Aaaah!

Shamrock Shake Up

Join in the fun of St. Patrick’s Day as we celebrate early to end March Break! There will be Irish dancers, and a performance by the Shananigans. Also enjoy face painting, a leprechaun and activities.

March Break Camp

All of the programs include: full use of the FunworX facility, with the addition of athletic exercise programs, arts & crafts and many more activities. Lunch and snacks will also be provided each day. All programming is designed for ages 4-12 years.

Added bonus-On-line specials for Wednesday and Friday.

Tuesday March 12 – Cupcake decorating is happening at FunworX. A fun tasty treat that you can take home. $1.00 per cupcake

March Break Art Camp at The Clay & Glass

For children 7-11. Sign your child up for a week of fun! Your child will explore creative play this March Break with dynamic instructors and inventive projects in clay sculpture and a variety of other art materials. In this program, clay sculpture is the feature activity with a variety of new projects – both functional and sculptural.

March Break Karate Camp

This exciting camp is open to all levels of experience. Children will receive daily martial arts instruction learning about: karate, jiu jitsu, kobudo, KidSafe Streetproofing in a safe and fun environment. Your child will also have fun playing indoor/outdoor sports, games and crafts.

March Break Day Camp at Steckle Heritage Farm

Looking for something fun to do over March Break? Steckle Heritage Farm has awesome day camp for youth in grades 1 through 4! In rain or shine or snow, we know how to have fun! We’ll be doing lots of baking and cooking with local ingredients, helping with the animals, building and creating cool crafts, and playing fun team games!
