Did you know cricket is one of the fastest growing sports in Canada? Cricket is played by over 20,000 children in communities, schools and organized leagues throughout Canada. Interested in learning the game but don’t know where to start? For the cricket beginner or novice, cricket often appears very confusing. After learning the basics of this interesting sport, you will soon discover there is lots to love. Cricket is a team sport played in most British Commonwealth countries, especially England, Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and the West Indies. Cricket can take many forms and is truly a game for people of all ages and abilities. Kitchener Cricket provides a fun introduction to cricket through local community associations and community centers in your area.
A group of volunteers dedicated to the creation of sustainable cricket programs in Kitchener and Cambridge Ontario hope to establish year-round Cricket programs for all age groups through our local community centre’s and community associations. The goal is to make cricket fun, accessible and affordable to everyone in the Kitchener area. The biggest supporters are the Williamsburg Community Association in Kitchener and the Ontario Cricket Academy and Club in Mississauga.
Cricket Canada is the National Sports Organization for cricket in Canada and a member of the Canadian Olympic Committee.
