CanstructionCanstruction is a food and awareness raising event. Teams of architects, engineers, designers, tradespeople and students will build impressive structures out of thousands of cans of food which will then be displayed throughout the mall during March break. The food will then be shared with the community. The 2013 goal is to collectively raise 34,000 lbs of food and financial support for distribution of this food to neighbours.

Come out and see these amazing structures and vote for your favourite in the People’s Choice category.

  • Canstruction Waterloo Region is part of an international competition. Rules and Regulations established by the International Committee are followed and assist with building guidelines.
  • Structures have been judged  at the mall in the categories of Best Meal, Best Use of Labels, Structural Ingenuity, Honourable Mention, Judges’ Favourite, Most Cans. The People’s Choice Award will be determined at the end of the week based on the structure that raises the most in financial donations.
