Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience at Centre in the Square
If you love Led Zeppelin, it’s too bad you missed Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience at the Centre in the Square this past Friday. Son of legendary Led Zeppelin drummer Jon Bonham, Jason created the Led Zeppelin Experience as a loving tribute of his father who died at the young age of 32 in 1980 when Jason was only 13. Jason talks candidly about his father. How he never thought it was very cool that his Dad was part of Led Zeppelin because “it wasn’t like he was part of The Beatles”. How he never got to jam with his Dad as there was only ever one drum kit in the house. He shows the soft side of Jon Bonham that fans never knew including showing home videos of his father as a kid. It was all quite interesting. To top it all off, the band playing with him was phenomenal…especially the lead singer! He sounds so much like Robert Plant you would swear he was his son…but he’s not, his name is James Dylan. The whole experience was incredible, and very touching to see a son so lovingly pay tribute to his father.
If you love Led Zeppelin and missed this show you’ll want to make sure you go to the Centre in the Square’s website and buy tickets to Led Zeppelin IV Classic Albums Live on April 11th! They will be playing note for note, cut for cut just as it is in the album. Tickets range from $29-$69! Not bad for an amazing night out!
