Family Day, facebook and KW neighbourhoods
Wow. That week went by fast. And so is the long Family Day weekend!
But it’s not too late. Ongoing in Uptown Waterloo until 3:00pm is Winterloo, previously known for ten years as Ice Dogs. Take the family. There is tons of stuff to do. Also, Family Day is not over just yet, you’ve still got about 12 hours to get out there with your family and have some fun.
Last week was Valentine’s Day of course, and out event posted was really special. I’m sure there was a lot of love in the air.
Maple, our food blogger visited the Raintree Cafe. It’s a unique spot for some fine dining.
Our charity post was for Skate 48, raising almost two million dollars over the past several years for children’s charities.
Last week, I got a flier in my mailbox for a chance to win a trip to Cuba. One thing led to another and I ended up at Hogg Mechanical in a Q&A session about where most homeowners go wrong with their home’s heating and cooling systems.
Coming up tomorrow is a date night idea – a fancy meal at Sole followed up with a Diana Krall concert. I just love her smooth and easy Jazz sound. Also later this week we have Piecemeal – feed your tummy and your mind. That’s my kind of multitasking!
We’ve still be added by more and more new friends on facebook. We have over 1430 already. I guess facebook isn’t dead just yet. My 365 Real Estate Blog on facebook is also growing too but nowhere near as fast. My favorite rule from last week was Rule #46: Don’t post on facebook how much you love a house. Kitchener Waterloo is the biggest small town I know. Everybody knows everybody.
We got a spike of traffic for Family Day
Over where I pay the bills, I did what I thought would be a provocative post comparing RE/MAX and Royal LePage – a little bit of history, a little bit of insight. In my weekend update, I also postulated about the main problems with the business of real estate with a post entitled “Why do I get so many postcards from real estate agents?” I always expect to get in trouble for these kinds of posts.
365 Rules about Real Estate should be back from the proofreader anytime now.
Kitchener Waterloo Neighbourhoods
I did some crowdsourcing last week as well with the question “Where are the good and bad neighborhoods in Kitchener Waterloo?” We found the bad ones. The good ones are the ones with the best schools.
Check out this post about Ennios Pasta House. It’s always busy serving up traditional Italian Food.
That’s it for now. It’s been cold and Chichi hasn’t been getting her long leashless dog walks. We’re going over to Snyder’s Flats for a good run.
