Random Act of Kindness Day

Random Act of Kindness DayRandom Act of Kindness Day has been bringing Kitchener-Waterloo and other Canadian communities together since 2008, by engaging citizens in small acts of kindness and generosity.

On Random Act of Kindness Day do something nice for someone and ask nothing in return other than they do something nice for someone else. Part of the beauty of the initiative is that it doesn’t have to cost a cent. Holding a door open, words of thanks and encouragement, telling someone they’ve done a good job – these are the kinds of acts that citizens ‘pay forward’ on this special day.

Everyone is invited to participate in Random Act of Kindness Day!

Random Act of Kindness Day cards are available at The Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation, the Waterloo Region Record and at each of the 40 Tim Horton’s locations around Kitchener Waterloo and area. These are your most important tools for spreading kindness on Random Act of Kindness Day.

Help kick-start kindness on November 9th at the Official Kick-Off of Random Act of Kindness Day at Conestoga Mall. Want to get involved? Form a Kindness Krew! Gather some friends, family or co-workers and help put a human face on our community. To find out more information or to sign up online visit www.kwcf.ca.

To celebrate five years of kindness in our community, a new lunch-time Kindness Celebration will be held at the City of Kitchener in partnership with the Downtown Kitchener BIA. This interactive event will play host to a Taste of Downtown (free food!) speakers and an interactive section that will allow you to share your kindness stories!
