The Running Dead
During The Running Dead hundreds of zombies are on the loose. They are attempting to steal your soul. You can’t afford to stop or slow down. Through challenging terrain and obstacles, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to dodge the lifeless creatures and make it across the finish line… hopefully with your souls still intact!
Whether you are an experienced runner, looking to have a great time with friends/coworkers or just wanting to watch, The Running Dead event is a unique experience. The trek covers the 175 acres of Bingemans, along the Grand River with many unique challenging twists – ranging from rope crawls, rafting challenges and haunted village areas. This will be an experience like no other.
Ideal for all ages and abilities, The Running Dead is Waterloo Region’s newest interactive experience appealing to both zombie fanatics and athletes. In partnership with the University of Waterloo’s Athletic Program, the three kilometre course is full of obstacles, difficult terrain, and lots of grunge and grime.
Spectators are encouraged to visit – no charge. Parking is complimentary for all guests.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase during the event, including a licensed area for those of legal drinking age. Live entertainment will be provided upon completion of the final race.
We encourage friendly rivalry so don’t be afraid to show some team spirit.
Here’s a few things to consider:
If it rains, the event still goes on, it just gets better.
The zombies will be attempting to take your souls (flags around your waist).
Start times are staggered to ensure runners are spread out along the course so areas do not get congested.
