St. Jacobs Country Playhouse presents Big Band Legends

St. Jacobs Country Playhouse In the heart of St. Jacobs’ Market District, the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse is conveniently located on Benjamin Road at the northern edge of Waterloo. A visit to the Playhouse is a memorable outing as the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse is a distinctive venue that features turn-of-the-century masonry and heavy timber accents associated with traditional Mennonite architecture. With 385 seats, the theatre auditorium has a raked layout that affords each seat a fantastic view of the stage.

A Tribute to Crooners & Songbirds, conceived and directed by Alex Mustakas with orchestrations and vocal arrangements by Howard Cable, this show has musical direction by Elizabeth Baird and is choreographed by Gino Berti.

In the same tradition as the popular Legends series comes an original Drayton Entertainment production that honours beloved crooners and songbirds.

These titans of song have dominated the charts for the past eighty years with a hit parade of classics. Backed by an all-star orchestra featuring arrangements by Canada’s own Big Band legend Howard Cable, this upbeat production is packed with classics from such icons as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, and Nat King Cole, mid-century stalwarts Tony Bennett, Neil Diamond, Paul Anka, Doris Day, and Bobby Darin, and modern day superstars Harry Connick, Jr. and Michael Bublé.
