Music and Movies in Waterloo Park

Music and Movies in the ParkMusic and Movies in the Park is a free family event that happens in front of the bandshell area of Waterloo Park. The music starts at 7:00pm and the movie begins at dusk. There are also vendors on location. If it rains the event is cancelled.

Bring a chair and a blanket and get a good spot and enjoy. Simple pleasures.

The Bandshell area of Waterloo Park is in the west end of the park.

The first movie of the summer is the family adventure movie — Journey 2: The Mysterious Island — a follow-up to the 2008 worldwide hit Journey to the Center of the Earth. Journey 2 begins when young Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson, reprising his role from the first film) receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist. Like Waterloo Park, it’s a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret. Unable to stop him from going, Sean’s new stepfather, Hank (Dwayne – the Rock- Johnson), joins the quest. Together with a helicopter pilot (Luis Guzman) and his beautiful, strong-willed daughter (Vanessa Hudgens), they set out to find the island, rescue its lone inhabitant and escape before seismic shockwaves force the island under the sea and bury its treasures forever.
