Latitudes Storytelling Festival

Latitudes Storytelling FestivalAs part of the City of Kitchener’s 100th anniversary of becoming a city, this year’s Latitudes Storytelling Festival is taking a look at the past while celebrating the future.

It just so happens that Latitudes Storytelling Festival was started as a way of celebrating the stories of a historic building (Trinity United Church) in downtown Kitchener, and the community it has served for a century and more.

Latitudes Storytelling Festival is a festival inside of a festival – the K-W Multicultural Festival. It wraps up a month of diverse celebrations as part of the Tapestry series.

Latitudes is a festival of stories from around the world. You’ll find stories told in music, in spoken word, in theatrical and dance performances, fine art and images.

There will be performances by:

  • Brad Woods
  • Deb Lloyd
  • Heather Whaley
  • Mary-Eileen McClear
  • The Baden Guild of Storytellers
  • The Skalawags
  • Spoken word performers
  • and others

Where: Victoria Park, Kitchener

When: June 23 & 24, 2012

Time: 12:30-5:00pm
