It is too bad that the organizers have chosen (apparently - as tickets are sold out) to make this an exclusive event. It would have been better, I think as a fundraiser and for awareness to make this a big public event. Wouldn't it be better to charge 100 people $10 each instead of 10 people $100 each? Now the tickets are sold out. Who knew? I'm wondering how much the tickets sold for. 365 things to do in Kitchener Waterloo is a novelty site (not a media outlet). No one told me about this event way back in April. I would have happily broadcast this event for the good cause of fundraising for one of our hospitals and because a Great Big Sea concert is certainly an event worthy of 365 things to do in Kitchener Waterloo (and 365Cambridge). Here's a bit of history --> About two years ago, I started 365 things to do as a "community site" on a lark, just for fun, as a way to connect to the local community and to become known as "Keith Marshall - the real estate agent who runs 365 things to do in Kitchener Waterloo. I started it as a marketing tool for my real estate business and to give back to the community, to help build a stronger community. I started the site because I enjoy living in Waterloo Region; it has changed so much in the dozen years I've lived here and it keeps on getting better. If you think back to the year 2000 (when I moved here), we didn't have a blues festival, dog parks, bike parks, skate parks, splash pads, porch parties, many of the restaurants and night spots that we have today. There is so much to see and do here, if I do rename the site it will have to be 10,000 things to do in Kitchener Waterloo! As a realtor, when I meet people who are moving into the region I tell them how lucky they are. John Smith you seem upset with this posting. I didn't know that this event was sold out. When I saw that Great Big Sea was playing in Waterloo Region, I thought it was a cool idea to have a big headliner like Great Big Sea here. Its the kind of event that would interest the fans of 365 things to do in Kitchener Waterloo (and 365 things to to in Cambridge too). Thank you John Smith as well for your advice on how to make the site better. We are making improvements when we can. Your ideas are good ones. Finally, as this is a leap year 2012 has 366 days. Instead of changing the name of the site, unless we are one of the lucky ones (with connections to tickets to Great Big Sea) we can just ignore today's post and continue on with our day, eh? There are still 365 things to do in Kitchener Waterloo.
