Elmira Maple Syrup Festival 2012
Since 1963 the little town of Elmira, our little cousin town to the north has been celebrating the coming of spring with the Maple Syrup Festival. Be it warm, cold, rainy or windy, the show must go on. The roads in and around Elmira will get clogged with traffic, as visitors from around the province and around the world will make their way to Elmira to savor the sweet taste of spring.
The Elmira Maple Syrup Festival has been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest maple syrup festival with 66,529 people. People from as far away as Australia, Europe, Mexico, the USA, Cambridge, Guelph and even the North Pole are often in attendance.
With 2000 volunteers, more than 100 vendors and serving more than half a million pancakes the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival is certainly a celebration for gourmands of the pancake, connoisseur of good syrup, those who love griddles, spring, rural living, festivals and country attractions.

For the the young and the young at heart there are midway rides, inflatable bouncy attractions and pony rides.
Erick Tarpaulin will be there captivating young audiences his unique brand of music for kids of all ages.
Internet phenomenon Chef D will be creating mouthwatering recipes such as Maple Dijon Salmon and Roasted Garlic, Maple Pork Loin.

There’s a Quilt and Craft Show and Sale, a Toy show and sale, a Pancake flipping contest, a dog show, music, celebrities, politicians and sap.
