The extra day in February wiped me out

365 things to do in Kitchener Waterloo in February was another great month. Our facebook page went over 1000 likes. That’s a lot of likes! Winter almost came but then didn’t so I guess we’re just not going to get it this year and that’s OK with me. Actually, we’ve been so busy around the office of 365 things to do in Kitchener Waterloo, we haven’t really noticed the weather.

We started 365 Business Network last month. It’s a natural extension of 365 things to do in Kitchener Waterloo, a chance for businesses and business people to get to know each other outside of our offices and retail locations. We’ll be having our first monthly meeting on March 27th at Bobby O’Briens (7pm). Come on out. No membership fees. Free Appetizers. Please let us know you’re coming (so we have enough appetizers).

There were a couple of big events in February. The Total Woman Show, celebrating women and it’s tenth year was a big hit. The Ice Dogs Festival was another. The Ice Dogs Festival gets bigger and even better every year.

The charity event of the month was Project Macfrica at THEMUSEUM.

But Family Day was “the event” of the month. This new holiday is the best thing to happen to February since… forever. Who could’t use an extra holiday and why not in February and certainly there was lots to do.

We made it out to a couple of local food and drink landmarks. The Huether Hotel, a long time favorite got a day and a rave and a new fav, Menchies got one too.

For some peace in nature we explored three of our local conservation areas for winter activities including ice fishing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing and we also had a couple of big concerts: Hedley and from back in the day, Platinum Blonde.

Upcoming and coming up in March, we’ll have lots of March Break activities for the kids, some St. Patrick Day shenanigans for the folks. We have the Uptown Waterloo Comedy Festival, not to mention the Grand Home and Life Show and the Reptile show too. As we reported in January, Worksburger is opening in Uptown Waterloo at 92 King Street South. The Grand Opening is March 22!

There’s always lots to do in Kitchener Waterloo. It doesn’t always involve eating a hamburger but when it does its even better. If you like this site, please share it with your friends. Tweet it up. Join us on facebook. We welcome your ideas, comments and suggestions.
