KANDAHAR: A Modern Soldier’s Story

 

kandaharA new original musical theatre production dedicated to the members of the Canadian and Nato Forces past and present serving in Afghanistan. The show consists of 29 new original Rock, Jazz, R&B, Country, Show style and Military style songs composed in a story line to tell of the adventures of three young men, one from Canada, one the United States and one from Britain. There is comedy, hate, love, and death with all the excitement and emotion that occurs in war.

Written by local songwriter & musician Robin Habermehl, with additional book by Sam Varteniuk, the musical is directed by Allan Hoch. The cast includes: Hayden Tallon, Michael Schatz, Anne Marie Massicotte, Mike Ferfolia, Rebecca Binnendyk & Darell Kuwabara. Featured musicians include: Andriy Tykhonov – Music Director & pianist, Ken Hadley – saxophones & flute, Paul Stouffer – keyboards, Nick Bastian – guitar, Rob Gellner – trumpet, Don McDougall – percussion & Jimmy Boudreau – drums
