Winter Fun Day at Steckle Heritage Farm
Family Day at Steckle Heritage Farm will focus on old fashioned winter fun for the family. They will have many activities for the family such as snow sculpture, crafts and visiting with the farm animals. A highlight of the event will be having two talented local story tellers of the Baden Storytellers Guild sharing their tales in the Honey House beside the fireplace at 11am and 1pm. The guest storytellers are Carolyn Wilker, storyteller and author of Once Upon a Sandbox and Derek Brisland, sharing Frog and Toad stories. The gentle slope will be set up for tobogganing so don’t forget to pack your toboggan. You are also welcome to try out snowshoes and cross-country skis at this free winter event. Hot chocolate and snacks will be available for a small charge.

Black History Month celebration - The sounds of African music and drums

Tales of the Grimm at Kitchener’s Registry Theatre

Skate on RIM
Research In Motion is sponsoring free swimming and skating on Monday at a number of municipal facilities. Locations include the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex, RIM Park, The Aud, Hespeler Arena and the W.G. Johnson Centre.

It’s fun to play at the YMCA
Family Day Monday will also feature a penny carnival in addition to some regular adult and youth programming. The YMCAs will also host special family programming such as family fitness classes, family gym time and/or open swim times. Call for specific schedules.
