365 things to do in Kitchener Waterloo – August in review
In case you missed it, it was a full and eventful month. Perhaps you were away at the cottage or in New York City or California. Perhaps you were too busy working for living to snatch a little time here and there for yourself. It was a busy month around the offices of 365 things to do in Kitchener Waterloo. We were on the streets, in the restaurants and out in nature.
For events, our favorite ones were three: the record-breaking Kitchener Blues Festival, the Waterloo Air Show and weird and wonderful wacky Buskers Carnival. Big crowds, good weather, lots of noise and things to see.
We went out of town to Guelph’s Mustang Drive In. When was the last time you went to a drive in? Movies in the park and at Sportsworld Crossing were also fun and relaxing. Something about watching movies outside that make them seem so special.
We rediscovered a favorite used bookstore – A Second Look Books. They moved to their second location on King Street. They were the coolest place in town on the hottest day of the year. I bought a book, did a post and got to use my favorite quote; “Outside of a dog a book is a man’s best friend. Inside a dog, it’s too dark to read.”
We discovered Kitchener Waterloo’s best hot beef sandwiches, the most excellent lamb burgers and a fantabulous new place with burgers and fries and beer and youthful exuberance – Frat Burger! In August, there truly were some great stops on the taste buds express.
On to September, the first month of the new year. Upcoming we visit Thai Bistro, see Elvis, and take the dog surfing…
