Latitudes Storytelling Festival

story tellingLatitudes will be held in Victoria Park on June 25-26, same weekend as the K-W Multicultural Festival. We’ve had a location change; we’re not on the island, but at the Park Street end of the multicultural festival, just after the bridge. The festival runs from 12:30-5 p.m. each day.
We have story stages for adults and children, and since the fundamental motivator is that the story gets told, you will find stories told through music, spoken word, image, poetry, and other arts-based expression, as well as by professional storytellers.
Programming includes performances by: Aubrey Davis, Johnathan Lynn, Kevin Sutton, Mary-Eileen McClear, Rubena Sinha, Noriko Tamamoto and others. We’re also introducing our digital storytelling project, called Latitudes and Longitudes, under the leadership of Dwight Storring, and we’re going to take a stab at a story geocache in Victoria Park. We’re also lining up a few Human Library “books.” And there are crafts for children. We’ve got a few more things up our sleeve.

Where: Victoria Park, Kitchener

When: June 25 & 26

Time: 12:30-5:00pm
