At Centre in the Square in Kitchener, the Grand Philharmonic Choir performs the world premiere of Declaration

grand philharmonicA powerful setting of the Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations, for choir, orchestra and the riveting, internationally renowned viola soloist,  Rivka Golani. This will be paired with two moving works by Ralph Vaughan Williams: Dona Nobis Pacem and Lord Thou Hast Been Our Refuge

Joining the Choir for this performance will be:
Soloists: Laura Albino, soprano and Andrew Love, baritone

This will be a unique concert, as it celebrates human rights and the power of music to convey and inspire these ideals.  To enhance the audience experience, we will have exhibits on the Canadian author of the U.N. Declaration, and a special question-and-answer session with composer John Burge, conductor Mark Vuorinen and soloist Rivka Golani after the performance.
