Family Literacy Day

13th annual family literacy day at conestoga mall, waterloo

It’s that time of year again – the 13th annual Family Literacy Day is taking place at Conestoga Mall today!  Bring out the whole family for an afternoon of literacy-themed fun, games and reading!  It’s definitely way more fun than it sounds… Erick Traplin will be singing throughout the afternoon, and guest readers of your favorite children’s books will be reading to kids as well (bring your books, maybe you can get a signature!).

There’s also a Boggle Tournament starting at 10:30am – and the grand prize wins $250 Conestoga Mall Gift Card.  I know I could get a lot of awesome stuff for $250!  While you’re down there, check out the great booths from the sponsors, collect stamps on your “passport” and get free prizes!!

Where: Conestoga Mall, Waterloo

When: Sunday January 30, 2011

Time: 11am – 3pm (although, the Boggle tourney starts at 10:30am)

Cost: Free ($25 for the Boggle Tournament)

Itinerary:

  • 10:30 am – Bogglemania Tournament (Register at www.projectread.ca)
  • 11 am – 3pm – Information booths, crafts, activities, stamp collecting, FREE prizes!
  • 1 pm – The Record Breaking Read-In (Break the record for the most people reading in one spot for 20 minutes!)
